Want i want to know is, when you successfully enter pwned DFU mode what should redsn0w say on the starting screen? Sorry for the late response but i was really busy these days.įirst things first I installed a previous version of itunes (apple makes our lives difficult even in doing that!) just in case. I will however try to install an older version of itunes (10,7 would be good?) and inform you on how it went. Unfortunately i don't have enough time to run a few more tests now. Same thing happens ofc if itunes is already running and i do the things mentioned above. If i close itunes, unplug and plug again (or hold both buttons to exit and then try to open again the phone) it enters 1st-gen DFU mode only to get to WTF as soon as i open itunes. If itunes is running, redsn0w recognizes it as WTF mode. What happens is that the iphone is stuck in a recovery state with blackened screen. I did also try to do the method you said. So my guess is that the newest version of itunes changes any devices ported in pwned DFU to WTF mode. However, the moment i open itunes, it says something like 'Waiting for ipod" then it changes to "Waiting for iphone" and then my device is in WTF mode. Apparently my device gets to something redsn0w calls "1st-gen device (DFU mode)" when i do the steps it says. Heh, I knew you would be the first one to answer.Thanks Bruan. So in general, my iphone seems to resist to enter pwned DFU mode, for its own reasons. Maybe the phone would have booted since the installation had almost finished? Same error occurred when i tried to recover to factory firmware or something through itunes. Didn't try though to get the phone out of recovery mode using tiny umbrella. I also tried just upgrading to 4.2.1 through itunes and got the error 1500. I tried entering pwned DFU and using the same created ios through redsn0w and still got error 1600 Use iReb through sn0wbreeze to enter pwned DFU and then use the custom ios created by sn0wbreeze based on an official 4.2.1. I think i also got an error 2 when trying to install the official one but can't remember Still get error 1600 when trying to install the custom ios. Same thing appears if I open the 0.9.14b2 version. It did however say that 1st gen device on DFU mode. Use redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2 to enter pwned dfu and then install the official 4.2.1.
Here's what i've tried so far : use redsn0w_win_0.9.14b2 to enter pwned dfu and then install a custom 4.2.1 that i got from this site (error 1600) - redsn0w says that my device is on WTF mode no matter how many times i follow EXACTLY the same steps and even though the program says that it succeeded. Btw, i always set the phone as a new device when i install the WD 7.1 (3 times so far i think) However no matter what i try i can't install any other ios apart from WD 7.1. The thing is that now i have the ipad baseband 06.15.00 and i want to change to 4.2.1, downgrade and then install the WD 7.1 again. Eventually, the only os that i managed to install was WD 7.1. Tried to restore to normal 4.2.1 through itunes and ofc it failed. Iphone 3g, got it jailbroken with 4.2.1, don't know baseband that it used to have. So sorry in advance and here's my problem I have been reading the forums regarding my problem for some time now but unfortunately wasn't able to get this to work despite the solutions already posted.
